An Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) is usually a nation-state sponsored cybercrime group that aims to stealthily remain in a computer system they have illicitly accessed for malicious purposes. An APT has many resources and uses various techniques to gain and maintain presence in a network to steal information, disrupt activities, or to set itself up for any future malicious activities.
